Why we exist

Every day, skilled people do work that no manual captures. The technician who hears a pump is about to fail. The operator who knows exactly how much to adjust the line when the material changes. That knowledge lives in their hands and their heads — and when they retire, move on, or simply have a bad day, it walks out the door with them.

We started dotspot to keep that knowledge where it belongs: with the people and companies who built it.

We build for the people doing the work. Better tools in their hands, their expertise protected, and — when robots and humanoid systems arrive on site — those systems learning from the best, on the company's own terms.

Where we come from

dotspot has its roots in Norwegian industry. We are mechanical engineers, industrial designers, and people who have spent their careers on factory floors, at field sites, and inside the software that runs them.

That background shapes everything we build. We know that anything which adds a step to a shift will not get used. We know that operational data is only worth collecting if it makes the day easier. And we know that industrial companies have earned the right to be sceptical of technology that promises a lot and delivers admin.

So our bar is simple: seamless to use, secure by design, and it must remove work.

When you record how your people work, you are trusting us with your operational know-how. We take that seriously. Our principles:

    CEO & Co-founder

    Mechanical engineer. Marcus has spent his career working alongside field workers, helping them adopt new technology as everyday tools — so they can stay competitive and operate more safely. He understands that a solution only counts if it works in the real conditions of a shift.

    CTO & Co-founder

    Mechanical engineer. Rasmus has worked in industrial companies and industrial software on knowledge-based engineering: making it possible for engineers to capture how they design systems, so that insight can take the tedium out of engineering work. He brings that same rigour to how dotspot handles and protects operational knowledge — trust is built into the architecture.

He is relentless about seamlessness: technology should disappear into the work. His focus is on systems that give companies a collaborative advantage through AI by bringing the organisation's common knowledge into one place.

We are a team with global ambition, building from Norway for an industrial transformation that reaches far beyond it. We believe how this transformation is handled matters as much as whether it happens, and that is a responsibility we hold ourselves to in every decision about what we build and how we handle what our customers trust us with.

We are technical optimists with a conscience — people who could build this anywhere, and chose to build it here, in a way that puts the people doing the work first.
